Wadlow farm is near the A11, sited in close proximity to the villages of Balsham, West Wratting, Six Mile Bottom, Great Wilbraham, Brinkley and Fulbourn (total population some 8,400 according to 2001 Census). The proposed wind farm would consist of thirteen 120 metre - 393 ft - high wind turbines.
We created this map by superimposing the positions of the turbines (as given by grid reference in the formal planning application submitted by RES to SCDC in May 2006) on top of the map obtained from the Ordnance Survey Get-a-map service. The planning application also states that the turbines may be positioned +/- 50m from the grid references they quote.
The closest village is Balsham - there are houses within Balsham that are no more than appx. 1.4km (i.e., less than 1 mile) from the closest turbine. The closest houses in the main part of West Wratting village are appx. 1.9km from a turbine. Most of Balsham village is closer to a turbine than any part of West Wratting village.
