Readers Letter - Haverhill echo
The following letter from Brian Langford was published in the Haverhill Echo on 28/06/2007.
"Reading Lisa Jackson's environmental spot I can only conclude that she is being deliberately provocative and deliberately rude. A number of inland wind farms have proved unreliable and inefficient. If she lived here as I have for the last thirty five years and if she had taken the trouble to check wind speeds for the last six months she would know that these turbines fail at the taxpayers expense and would be a complete white elephant. They are being built as a sop to the environmental lobby who will not come to terms with the only sensible solution which is nuclear energy and sensible energy savings by all householders.
Many other countries are finding to their disappointment, that wind farms are not the answer.
